Atlético Huila beat Deportivo Cali this Sunday with a goal from Marcus Vinicius and further increased the crisis of results in the sugar bowl.

Those led by Jorge Luis Pinto suffered in Neiva and went into despair without being able to scratch at least one point. They are still sunk at the bottom of the table and with the descent breathing closely.

While the Verdiblancos are collapsing, the Opitas got their fourth victory, climbing to the 12th place and remaining 2 points behind the eighth; they also left the red zone of relegation, behind Unión Magdalena, Alianza Petrolera, Once Caldas and Deportivo Cali.

Atlético Huila won in just 5 minutes of the match. After a long kick from goalkeeper Jhon Figueroa, Faber Gil ventured into the area, wanting to surprise the Verdiblanca defense; the ball ended up rebounding in the possession of Sebastián Hernández, who sent a cross from the right that Marcus Vinicius headed in after an unsuccessful rejection by Rafael Bustamante.

The goal action was reviewed in the VAR for a possible misplacement. However, José Caldera ended up enabling the play and the goal was validated by the referee. Atlético Huila beat Deportivo Cali 1-0 at the start of the match.

Deportivo Cali tried with the aerial game. The first approach was with José Caldera after a corner kick. Five minutes later, Jhon Vásquez looked for him with a crashing ball off the crossbar.

The locals got closer again at 26′, with a quick defense-attack transition that Gustavo Britos squandered after dragging the mark of four defenders and leaving the goalkeeper relegated. Although Gil appeared on the right, the Argentine ended up losing the opportunity.

At 34′, Vásquez won the back of Yosimarc Torres and tried the middle distance. He took a shot past Figueroa’s left upright.

In the complement, Deportivo Cali tried to react and sought to take possession of the ball. Huila withstood the onslaught and taking advantage of the rival’s physical exhaustion, she knew how to calm the situation. With the changes, coach Néstor Craviotto oxygenated the midfield and closed off any space for the Pinto team.

The sugar bowl waited until 69′ to try something in the Huila goal. Product of despair, the central Caldera appeared from the left sector and took a crossed shot looking to surprise the goalkeeper. Figueroa ended up risking his life in that action after the appearance of Viveros.

At the end of the game and with Cali exposed in defense, Huila generated a new arrival on goal. The 80th minute was passing when Gil appeared on the right and after getting rid of Caldera, he looked for Kevin Dawson’s goal. The ball was deflected fortunately for the sugar bowls.

Atlético Huila displayed his physique in the auction and put Cali, who looked fused at Plazas Alcid, against the ropes. Marcus Vinicius’s goal ended up giving them 3 gold points that brings them closer to eight and takes them out of the direct relegation places.
