Vandenbempt has disastrous news for Club Brugge

First he scored from the penalty spot, and then he cashed in a nice assist from Mats Rits. Brandon Mechele made the reassuring third Bruges goal after the break. Club thus remains two points behind AA Gent.

Lang hopes to increase the pressure in the Artevelde city with the three points, but Peter Vandenbempt fears that Club has acted too late. “If AA Gent is still in front of Club Brugge after next weekend, then it’s decided, I think,” says the analyst Sporza. “One point is actually enough for that, because based on the games won, Ghent is still ahead even with a victory for Club against Seraing (…) It could be that Club Brugge is ready for the final sprint, only it could be that blue- black who bet too late. But we will know more in one week.”
