The truck driver in his 70s was killed, and 7 students and coaches were injured, and 3 students were seriously injured.

A 1-ton truck and a van collided head-on on a narrow road in Pacheon-myeon, Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do.
A truck driver in his 70s was rescued after being caught in the driver’s seat, but died at the scene.

The driver’s side is so badly dented that I can’t open the door.
This is because the two vehicles collided head-on.
Seven people in the van also suffered major and minor injuries, including six badminton players and one coach in their 30s from an elementary school in Gwangju.
Among the injured, three elementary school students complained of loss of consciousness and difficulty breathing, and were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, and two of them underwent emergency surgery.
They were on their way back to their lodgings after the Korea Badminton Association Janggi National Championships held in Cheongsong, North Gyeongsang Province.
The accident occurred while driving on a road with one lane each way without a median barrier, and it is estimated that one side crossed the center line and drove in reverse.

The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident based on the driver’s statement and black box video.
