Usyk reveals the approximate amount of the fee demanded by “King” Fury for the super fight

In this potential duel, the undisputed would be determined [“undisputed”] world champion in super-heavyweight boxing for the first time this century and the first time in the four-belt era (since 2007).

After long discussions, which were also interspersed with rude insults in the public space, a common denominator for a superfight between Usik and Fury was never found.

There were versions in the foreign media that Usik had even agreed to share the profits in the ratio of 30:70, but Fury’s demands continued to grow.

In the interview published on Volodomir Kobelnikov’s “YouTube” channel, Usik revealed the approximate amount requested by Fury.

“He talked about a lot of millions. He said he was a king and that’s why his value was high. I’m not sure I can say the amounts he asked for, but it was over 100 million.

He said, “I’m Tyson Fury. I’m the king. I should make a lot.” However, I wrote to him that a great wrestler is not judged by the money he earns. A strong wrestler is judged by his fights and the path he has taken,” Usik said.

Considering that the potential super fight against Fury did not materialize, the World Boxing Association (WBA) issued a statement that Usik’s next fight must be against the main contender of the WBA and the owner of the regular belt of the super-heavyweight division, Daniel Dubois from Great Britain.

36-year-old Usik has participated in 20 fights in the professional boxing ring and won all of them, ending 13 duels prematurely.

Usyk was the absolute champion in the weight category up to 90.2 kilograms, but in September 2021 he took all four belts from Briton Anthony Joshua in super heavyweight. In August of last year, Joshua tried to get revenge, but was defeated once again.

On the other hand, the 25-year-old Dubois has won 19 victories during his professional career, experiencing only one loss. Dubois suffered the only failure of his career in 2020, losing to his compatriot Joe Joyce.
