“UEFA takes action and considers excluding Juve from European football”

Juventus threatens to be excluded from European football by UEFA next season, reports The Sports Gazette. The old lady is currently under a magnifying glass at the Italian Football Association FIGC and UEFA because of the dubious financial balance of the club.

Juve is currently awaiting a decision from the Italian Public Prosecutor’s Office. At the beginning of this season, the Italian Football Association FIGC investigated various transfers of professional football clubs in Italy. It then came to light that, among others, Juve boosted the annual figures by artificially keeping transfer fees high and the judge eventually decided that the club of coach Massimiliano Allegri had defaulted. Juve was deducted fifteen points and therefore saw the chances of the title and Champions League football go up in smoke.

However, Juve appealed against the sentence and it proved successful. Last Thursday, the club was told that the points penalty has been withdrawn. This was a big jump in the ranking. Juventus was seventh, but with fifteen points is the new number three in Serie A with 59 points. The old lady has another ticket for the Champions League in his hands. The new position in the ranking for Juve is not yet certain. The points penalty has been temporarily withdrawn and that means that a new decision on the case must be made within thirty days. That will be done by the Italian Public Prosecution Service.

The verdict is expected in the second half of May, but according to The Sports Gazette UEFA is concerned about the timing. The European Football Association wants to quickly draw up calendars for next season and is therefore seriously considering opening a file that is separate from the case that the Italian Public Prosecution Service is investigating. UEFA wants to be able to switch quickly if Juve qualifies for a European tournament and is now considering suspending the club for violating Financial Fair Play agreements. In September 2022, the club made agreements with UEFA, but they would then have been made on the basis of a dubious financial management of Juve.
