“U18 Nissin Foods League” will be held! Tohoku block, Hokushinetsu block and Kinki block are newly established in the block league-Basket Count | Basket Count

In the top league, 5 schools each for men and women, including last year’s champions Fukuoka Daiichi and Ohka Gakuen, will be participating.

The Japan Basketball Association (JBA) has announced the outline of the “U18 Nissin Foods League Basketball Tournament 2023” and the participating teams.

This tournament has been held since last year as a match between teams with equal ability and as a tournament that gives many players the opportunity to participate. This year, the “U18 Nissin Foods Top League 2023”, in which the top teams in 2023 will participate, and the “U18 Nissin Foods Block League 2023”, which will be held in each region, will be held. The “U18 Nissin Foods Block League 2023” will be held in a total of 7 blocks, including the Kanto, Tokai, Chugoku, and Shikoku blocks that were held last year, as well as the Tohoku, Hokushinetsu, and Kinki blocks. One team from the U18 team of the B League club is scheduled to participate in the Kanto block.

Teams with high overall strength will be selected based on the results of the previous tournament, the rankings of each tournament, and the results of matches, and 8 teams each for the men’s and women’s teams will participate in the top league. For boys, five schools were selected, including Fukuoka Daiichi, which won last year’s championship, and Kaishi Kokusai, the top team ranking reflecting the results of last year’s block tournament, inter-high school, and winter cup. In addition, five schools, including Ohka Gakuen, which won last year’s championship, and Kyoto Seika, which won the Winter Cup, were selected for the women’s competition.

For the unannounced three men’s and women’s schools, in addition to the results of the 2023 high school championship and inter-high school, comprehensive judgment such as selection of representative players and team strengthening will be made to the U18 Nissin Foods Top League Judging Committee in early August. We are planning to select a team.

2. 2022 Match Results Ranking (Team rankings are calculated based on the match results of each block tournament (high school championship), Inter-High School Championships, and Winter Cup held in 2022, and a maximum of 4 top teams are selected.)
3. Selection based on 2023 results (In addition to the results of each block tournament (high school championship) and inter-high school in 2023, comprehensive judgment such as selection of representative players and team strengthening will be held in early August. The team will be selected by the Top League Judging Committee)
