Two more silvers for Badminton Zamora

In men’s singles, the only representative, Aitor Llandres, began the morning by winning both of their group stage matches, having a difficult duel against an opponent located far above the ranking. Already in the quarterfinal round, against another high-class rival, he managed to prevail in the first set, but fell in the next two, falling victory to the opposite side. In this way, he got a meritorious 5th place.

In men’s doubles, William Tapia and Aitor Llandres, this time they were a couple. Good competition from both, who finished losing in the group stage against the couple who were runners-up in the competition, in an equally even match in which everything was decided in the third set.

The best news came in the mixed doubles, with a silver from Irene de Arriba and Guillermo Tapia, which was close to being gold. Great competition from both, only giving up in the fight for gold, having options at all times to take the game on their side.

Finally, the last joy of the day came from the hand of Irene de Arriba with her partner from CB Medinense, Leticia González, hanging the second medal, also in the form of silver. After winning one of their matches with solvency, and another thanks to the struggle and experience of both, taking a last and third set in which they had moments with the adverse score, they reached the fight for gold with options. Despite touching it, the gold finally fell to the side of the opponents, also in the third set, with enormous equality throughout the match.
