This Thursday morning, the coach who had won the Bouclier de Brennus 2009 in the Perpignan staff announced his departure to the Toulon players. At the time of his signing in 2021, he said: “I am very proud to join RC Toulon, an emblematic club of French and European rugby. The RCT explains that Azéma is leaving “for personal reasons leading him to get closer to his family residing in the Pyrénées-Orientales”. In the press release, Azéma “clarified that in no case would his decision be linked to a possible problem with the club, Pierre Mignoni or the players”.
