Tom McEwen and JL Dublin lead with PR score in Kentucky Horse Trials

With a percentage of 77.44%, -22.60, Tom McEwen has with JL Dublin (by Diarado) takes the lead after the first dressage day of the Kentucky Horse Trials in Lexington. With Badminton and Burghley, the 5* is one of the three Grand Slam competitions, the most important series in eventing. Badminton is next weekend, the game is in Burghley at the beginning of September.

With Nicola Wilson’s golden European Championship horse JL Dublin, Tom McEwen showed an excellent dressage test. It gave the Brit a personal best score of -22.60. McEwen: “It’s all down to Nicola’s great training and the collaboration they’ve had. I’m lucky enough to be able to take the reins with him, and he’s a sight to behold anyway – he can do it very easily.”

The Californian rider Tamie Smith became World Cup horse on her horse Mae Baum (by Loredano) with a score of -24.20 second. After part one, Liz Halliday-Sharp is third with the KWPN horse Deniro Z (by Zapatero VDL) (-29.00), followed by the German Sandra Auffarth with Viamant du Matz (v. Diamant de Semilly). Five star debutante Alina Dibowski stands with the Polish bred Barbados 26 (v. Moravia) sixth.

Today, in part two of the dressage, Yasmin Ingham, among others, will be in action with her golden World Cup horse Banzai du Loir (v. Nouma d’Auzay).
