The Wizards are considering several names for the position of ‘general manager’

The Washington Wizards have not formally begun the search for a new general manager, but potential targets to replace Tommy Sheppard have been shared.

According to the journalist The AthleticJosh Robbins, the list of wishes it could be headed by Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri and Minnesota Timberwolves president of basketball operations Tim Connelly. He general manager of the New Orleans Pelicans, Trajan Langdon, is also a possible candidate for the position.

Wizards owner Ted Leonsis’s decision to fire Sheppard raises questions about the future of Kyle Kuzma and Kristaps Porzingis, who have already indicated their desire to continue in Washington. In fact, Porzingis and management had begun working on his contract extension.

Under Sheppard, the direction of the franchise pointed to a transformation of the roster, keeping Bradley Beal as the central player. Now, we will have to wait and see if the new general manager will pick up where Sheppard left off or if he will lead a major roster revolution.
