The traditional final is approaching. Karviná and Pilsen are one step away from promotion! – Czech Handball Association

Miner succeeded in Lovosice and is close to promotion

HK FCC MÚSTO LOVOSICE – HCB KARVINA 30:34 (13:15) | 15/04/2023
Most goals: Bogdanić 8, Motl 6, Trkovský 6 – Solák 8, Fulnek 6, Patzel 5
Referee: Přemysl Fukala – Radek Mohyla
Seven meter throws: 5/3 – 2/2
Exclusion: 6:5
Spectators: 811

Breaking moments: The first half was very even. Although Baník took a two-goal lead into the cabins, it was won only in the final two minutes after goals from Jan Plaček and Dominik Solák. In the second half, Lovci could not reduce the loss and Baník, on the contrary, slowly increased its lead. Thirteen minutes before the end, Jan Užek increased the score to 27:21, and the Slezans expertly guarded this lead in the end.

The interesting part of the match: Karviná was able to win in Lovosice after almost two years. Since then, northern Bohemia has fallen three times in a row. She reversed the unflattering balance just in time.

Top Scorer: Slovenia’s Tim Jenko Bogdanić once again shone in the Hunters’ jersey. Together with Dominik Solák from Karviná, they each scored eight goals. Bogdanić scored twice from seven-meter throws, while Solák scored once.

Youth Forward: The young props also did well on both sides. 21-year-old Jaroslav Trkovský added six goals to the account of Lovosice and Jonáš Patzel of the same age from Karviná only one less.

What the result means: Slezáné won the match point and on Wednesday, April 19, they can advance to the finals in front of their own spectators.

Pilsen left nothing to chance this time

TALENT OF THE TEAM OF THE PLIZEN REGION – HC ROBE ZUBŘÍ 37:22 (19:9) | 15/04/2023
Most goals: Režnický 10, Douda 5, Nejdl 4 – Mořkovský 6, Mickal 6, Mizera 4
Referee: Jiří Králíček – Milan Letev
Seven meter throws: 4/3 – 4/3
Exclusion: 8:6
Spectators: 1200

Breaking moments: Zubří managed to keep up with Pilsen for only 10 minutes. Then Daniel Režnický, the best scorer from the pivot in the Chance Extralize, started to act and in the 14th minute Talent was already leading 8:4. The Wallachians could not get through for ten long minutes and the West Bohemians did not despise this opportunity. After twenty minutes, the score was 13:4. After the change of sides, the players from the wider squad of Pilsen also got the opportunity, but it was not evident in the performance of the game and in the end Talent won overwhelmingly by 15 goals.

The interesting part of the match: West Bohemia’s goalkeeper Filip Herajt was also responsible for Pilsen’s high victory, who literally worked magic in the goal and sometimes drove Zubří’s shooters crazy with his saves.

Top Scorer: Pivot Daniel Režnický was unstoppable in Talent’s shirt, scoring 10 goals. This is his best result in this year’s playoffs.

Youth Forward: Daniel Bláha, who scored four goals, was not lost in Pilsen’s lineup. Lukáš Mořkovský is slowly saying goodbye to Zubrí, but he is still performing great. In this match, he scored six times, of which he netted three goals from seven-meter throws.

What the result means: Plzeň took the lead 2:1 in the matches and can end the entire series on Wednesday, April 19 in Zubří. Otherwise, the decisive 5th match will take place on April 23 in the west of Bohemia.

Post-match comments:
Petr Štochl, coach of the Talent team of the Pilsen region:
“Although we entered the previous games in the series better, now it is a big win. At the beginning we were not able to make a breakthrough, it was static and we went to the end too early. Fortunately, Filip Herajt kept us in the goal, then we were already on our way. To win the first half against Zubrí by ten goals is great, from our point of view it was a very good game, we could even spare key players. Zubří believed that after the home victory, it could also succeed in Pilsen. But we showed that we want to go to the final, we did our best, but we need to win one more time. A stormy atmosphere awaits us again in Zubří, the spectators will drive them. Our people at home also helped us extremely, when I saw the hall filled half an hour before the match, I was very happy. It can be seen that the audience is drawn into the game, they want to help us. We thank them for that, they were an extra player.”

Peter Dávid, coach of HC ROBE Zubří: “We failed in all respects, it was probably the worst match I’ve played in Zubří. Due to the absence of Matěj Havran, our defense completely fell apart, that is no excuse, everyone knows that he is a key player for us. We were also disappointed in the end, Filip Herajt caught us several times, and when we got past him, we hit the goal structure. Even later we didn’t get into the match. When it was already twelve o’clock, I replaced the players and we saved our strength for the center. We are not laying down our arms, the boys are Wallachians, we will fight to the last breath, we will do our best. However, we need to strengthen the defense. If we don’t improve the defense, we don’t have a chance.”

Nové Veselí managed to beat Hranice

TJ CEMENT HRANICE – TJ SOKOL NOVÉ VESELÍ 19:26 (10:15) | 15/04/2023
Most goals: Halama 5, Ševčík 3, Sirčo 3 – Halíček 5, Bartůněk 3, Melichar 3
Referee: Petr Kichner – Michal Vacula
Seven meter throws: 2/2 – 1/0
Exclusion: 2:2
Spectators: 77

Breaking moments: In the beginning of the balanced game, things started to change in Sokol’s favor eight minutes before the end of the first half. The guests built a three-goal lead within one minute, which they increased by two more goals before halftime. When in the first 12 minutes of the second half Hranice got through only twice, the fate of the match was already decided, because at that moment the team from Vysočina was leading 22:12 and it was no problem for them to lead the match to a winning end.

The interesting part of the match: Despite the low number of goals scored, almost all players from the field managed to score. Only three players from the home team did not score a single goal (Filip Dořičák, Michal Folwarczný and Jiří Polášek), on the other hand, only Marian Hajko did not find the recipe for the home goalkeeper.

Top Scorer: Two players scored five goals. Wingers Miroslav Halama from Hranice, who scored twice from the seven-meter mark, and Robert Halíček from Nové Veselí, who scored goals from quick counterattacks.

Youth Forward: At the same time, the two best scorers still have everything in front of them. Miroslav Halam is 22 years old and Robert Halíček is even three years younger.

What the result means: Even before the match, Hranice had a certain participation in the playoff for retention. Thanks to a big point lead, Nové Veselí secured participation in the top competition for the next season already at the beginning of the play-outs.

Majlont won again after two defeats

SHC MALOMEŘICE BRNO – HBC JVP STRAKONICE 1921 34:29 (20:14) | 15/04/2023
Most goals: Svoboda 8, Horut 7, Korger 4 – Sedláček 13, A. Nejdl 7, Nový 4
Referee: Milan Hájek – Tomáš Kozler
Seven meter throws: 6/6 – 7/6
Exclusion: 3:3
Spectators: 143

Breaking moments: At the end of the 18th minute, South Bohemia still led 12:10 thanks to Michal Krejčí. But the next six minutes decided the entire game. While Strakonice did not score even once, the Mammoths scored six times. Maloměřice maintained this lead for the rest of the match and went on to win their third win in the battle for survival.

The interesting part of the match: Only three players scored 24 goals for Strakonice. Martin Nový scored four, Adam Nejdl scored seven times and Ondřej Sedláček scored thirteen goals for Majlonta.

Top Scorer: It was the match of Sedláček’s life. The player, who still plays for Sokol Šťáhlava in the first league and is active in Chance Extralize for the first year, caught form like thunder at the end of the season. In the last match, he scored eleven goals in Strakonic’s win against Nové Veselí.

Youth Forward: Next to the 20-year-old Ondřej Sedláček, on the other side, Vojtěch Svoboda, who scored eight times, was successful.

What the result means: With this win, the twelfth Maloměřice got closer to Strakonice, who are just above them in the table. They are currently three points behind them.

Breaking moments: Královo Pole went to the cabins with a lead of six goals (14:8). The start of the second half did not suggest any drama, but Dukla’s 6-goal run was followed by an equalizer with 15 minutes to go. Eight minutes before the end, Prague took the lead for the first time, which they did not relinquish.

The interesting part of the match: Marek Hlinka together with Jakub Sviták and Jiří Vojtela started an unprecedented turnaround after changing sides. In total, Dukla scored 21 goals in the second half, of which these three players scored 16 of them.

Top Scorer: Jakub Sviták scored seven goals, including one from a seven-meter throw. Sviták scored all the goals in the last 20 minutes of the match and had the biggest share in Dukla’s turnover.

Youth Forward: 20-year-old Prague winger Jiří Vojtela also scored all his goals in the second half. He burdened Brno’s account with four goals.

What the result means: Dukla won by three goals and carries this lead into the rematch, which will be played in Prague on Friday, April 21. The more successful team will play a double match for 5th place with the winner of the Frýdek-Místek – Jičín duel.

Post-match comments:
Pavel Hladík, coach of SKKP Handball Brno:
“Congratulations to Dukla for the second half. It was a game of two halves. In the first we dominated, but in the second we inexplicably departed from what decorated us in the opening one. I’m disappointed with what we showed in the second half. However, it is the first match, I believe we will not lay down our arms and fight. They are still matches for placement and we want to finish as high as possible. I still don’t understand what happened. We have to evaluate it and correct what we did in the second half.”

Živojin Ilić, goalkeeper SKKP Handball Brno: “We played maybe the best first half, in the second half I can’t say what happened to us. We have a week to prepare to correct the collapse in the second half.”

Michal Tonar, coach of HC Dukla Prague: “After a winning match, it’s much more enjoyable. First of all, a big thank you to the whole team, because we experienced the disappointment of elimination quite intensely. I’m really happy, even though the nerves were on edge after the first half, that we were able to return to what decorated us all season and turned the game in our favor. But we still only have the first game behind us. We have a rematch at home in a week and I believe this match will help us. We want to finish as high as possible in order to forget a little bit about the elimination with Zubrí.”

Daniel Křístek, HC Dukla Prague midfielder: “The first half was terrible from our side. We have to motivate ourselves to finish as high as possible after elimination. We are missing some important players (Jiří Dokoupil and Filip Březina) who are pulling us along. I’m glad we pulled through after that scary first half, but it’s not over yet. We have a rematch ahead of us, for which we must prepare.”
