This coming weekend, April 22 and 23, the TOP Master Sub-13 and Sub-17 will be held in the municipality of Montilla, organized by the Spanish and Andalusian Badminton Federations and the Montilla Badminton Club.
Said event, in which the Diputación de Córdoba collaborates, will have a total of 110 players, who will play the Sub-17 and Sub-13 categories. The Sports delegate of the provincial institution, Ana Blasco, stressed that “it is an important competition, with high participation and attracts a large number of visitors to the region.”
At the club level, a total of 50 will be present at the event, eleven of them from the Andalusian Autonomous Community, coming from Almería, Arjonilla, Benalmádena, Granada, Huelva, La Encina, La Unión, Montilla, Rute and Seville.
Likewise, other communities will be present, such as Valencia, Galicia, the Balearic Islands, Madrid, Castilla y León, Murcia, Catalonia, Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura, the Canary Islands and Navarra.
In the SUB-13 category, several of the main favorites to win the gold are from Andalusia, such as Guillermo Muñoz, Sara Arenas from Cordoba and María del Pilar Carmona from Jaén. In the Under-17 category, Huesca Raúl Bergua and Gonzalo Isabal stand out, as well as Ismael Oballe from Ibiza. In the women’s section, there will be Macarena Fernández, Paula Noya and Alba Prada.
The TOP Master will begin on Saturday, at 9:30 a.m., in the Municipal Pavilion of Montilla, where all the rounds will be held, with the exception of the semifinals and finals, which will be played on Sunday morning. The event will end on the 23rd at around 3:00 p.m. with the medal-giving ceremony.
