The Sycomores junior team won the Saint-François Seminar Blizzard basketball tournament in the D3 juvenile category.
The Sycomores de Saint-Charles-Borromée junior team won it all during the Blizzard tournament at the Séminaire Saint-François, which took place on April 7 and 8 in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures.
The cadets were, once again, registered in the higher category for the event, namely juvenile D3. From the outset, they easily won their first game by a score of 61-25 against St-Pat’s High School.
They continued their momentum and put on two other wins by scores of 61-26 against the Saint-Jérôme Giants and 66-24 against Barthélemy-Joliette high school. In the final, they again met Pat’s High School and it was a 54-29 victory that allowed them to collect a second consecutive banner of champions.
For its part, the youngest team also had a good run. She signed convincing victories of 42-29 against the Blizzard du Séminaire Saint-François and 56-20 against the Géants de Saint-Jérôme. These wins propelled the team into the semi-finals.
Despite an excellent performance during this one and a lead of ten points after three quarters, the opponents of the Sycomores, the Blues and Or of Armida, made a comeback to win in the last moments by the mark of 40 to 38.
The season has thus ended for both teams and now gives way to spring activities.
