AIR MOUNTAIN. “Thank you!” said the official Luftenberg at yesterday’s spring reception. Citizens who have made a special contribution to the market community were brought in front of the curtain and awarded.
The celebrations began yesterday afternoon. The market town office had invited to an open day, which was accompanied by music from the elementary school children.
The evening was expressly dedicated to honoring and recognizing the long-standing commitment of former municipal councillors. Furthermore, the culture and sports promotion award for the years 2021 and 2022 was presented. Mayor Hilde Prandner and Deputy Mayor Patrick Kurz found very appropriate words to describe and appreciate the achievements of the honorees.

The medals of honor in silver were awarded to Johann and Gertraud Huemer as well as to Elfriede Buchberger. Their daughter gave a touching laudatory speech that visibly moved the award winner and the audience.
Josef Leimhofer, Johann Krieger, Ferdinand Böhm and Erich Fleischmann were happy to receive the gold medal of honour.
The 2021 Culture and Sports Promotion Prize went to the Kinderfreunde Luftenberg. Klaus Bittermann (ASKÖ Luftenberg, Archery Section) and Niklas Gemeinhardt (ASKÖ Luftenberg, Judo Section) received this award for 2022.
Among the many guests who attended were district governor Werner Kreisl, member of the National Council Sabine Schatz, mayors of the neighboring communities, community officials and employees, representatives of the emergency services and clubs as well as schools.
The Marktmusik Luftenberg and the band “Voices and Music” provided the musical framework for the evening event.
