‘The snus has affected your memory’

Faouzi Ziyech does not have a good word for his brother Hakim. The former Ajax player recently went against Vogue into the upbringing he had in the past and the role his mother played in it. This interview seems to have gone down badly with Faouzi, who indicates that he has completely ignored Ziyech’s career. He just didn’t get the credit for that in his opinion.

Ziyech said in the interview that his mother had to raise nine children. However, Faouzi cannot agree with this. “Only you were a child (11), the rest were 16, 18, 20, 22, 23, 27, 29 and some already had children,” he writes in a post on Instagram. “Me and your sister took over the upbringing, not entirely unwise.”

The Moroccan international also spoke in the magazine about Aziz Doufikar, a former professional who played for PEC Zwolle, among others, and is regarded by Ziyech as a mentor. Faouzi believes that he “sacrificed everything” for his brother’s future. “Me who sacrificed everything (including his family) for your future, opportunities and possibilities. You were the most carefree and pampered of them all (in the whole neighborhood).”

“For three years non-stop, sometimes twice a week, I stood along the line, in all weathers, until you were fifteen,” continues Faouzi. “After that, only I arranged for you to come to a host family. Until your driver’s license I picked you up halfway at the McDonald’s Lelystad, Zwolle, even Joure, so that you still had something to do with your weekend, then no one was pressing to pick you up. If I really couldn’t, I dropped off my car and my buddy took you and/or picked you up anywhere in the country My spine, that’s what shaped you and I’m not even talking about the mental sessions, the dips and break moments.”

In another post, Faouzi elaborates on everything he has done for his brother Ziyech. “Well, the snus has not only affected your teeth, but also your memory,” he ends his story. He also posted an Instagram post on which Ziyech can be seen wearing several expensive watches. “Worthy clocks compared to the time you got from me!” reads the caption.
