The Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon leaves 3.7 million euros on the island

The Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon not only continues to receive good reviews at all levels, but also continues to accumulate editions to become one of the benchmark Spanish races, as demonstrated by various data that make it unique compared to other sporting events.

The first is the fact that it unifies three different distances (marathon, 22K and 12K), which gives it an accessible status for any type of runner who wants to participate in a test of these characteristics.

Added to this is the fact that it has become a benchmark for parity, since once again it has exceeded 40% of registrations of female contestants and is already working to reach 50% in the coming years.

Positive economic impact

Likewise, the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon has established itself on its own merits as a great example of deseasonalization and family tourism, as demonstrated by the fact that more than half a thousand boys and girls have participated in the Santa Eulària Ibiza Kids Run CaixaBank.

All of this directly affects not only the perception of the island beyond its usual tourist reference, but also a high economic impact on dates where Spanish and foreign visitors are hardly received.

In fact, the impact estimated by the Talentum Group, the event organizer, exceeds 3.7 million euros between overnight stays, consumption in restaurants and purchases in local shops.

It is also worth remembering the growing internationalization of the event, in which 56% of the census comes from foreign countries, with close to 10,000 visitors residing on the island for a full weekend, including runners and companions.
