The Playoffs » Bryce Young reveals he still doesn’t know Panthers decision

One day away from the 2023 NFL Draft, Bryce Young says he still doesn’t know about the first overall pick. This Wednesday (26), in a brief interview with several reporters, the quarterback said he was not informed by the Carolina Panthers.

Scott Fowler, journalist for the Charlotte Observer, asked Bryce Young if the Panthers had already communicated with him about the decision. The quarterback promptly denied it.

“No, I haven’t heard anything directly from the team yet.”

Asked if he hopes to be the first overall pick, Young brushed it off.

“I don’t expect anything. I have no expectations, especially given everything that’s happened in Draft history, and in my life. I don’t take anything for granted, I never expect anything.”

Young played in 34 games in three years of college football, starting two seasons. Winner of the Heisman Trophy in 2021, the quarterback completed 65.8% of career passes, launching for 8,356 yards, 80 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Young still contributed 165 yards and seven touchdowns on 139 carries.

The 2023 NFL Draft will take place in Kansas City, Missouri. The event will start this Thursday (27) and end on Saturday (29).
