The brand new national champion of this discipline spoke with Radioanalisis about her present and her illusion of participating in the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.

In conversation with the second edition of Radioanalisis, the new women’s badminton national champion, Ashley Montrereferred to his participation in the national championships and his projection for Santiago 2023.

“I never trust that I’m going to get first place because in the last National I took first place in singles, which is my favorite modality, but I was calm, confident in the game I play and that led me to victory again,” Ashley said. regarding what was his participation in the tournament where he won gold in singles and mixed doubles.

Although Ashley currently stands out in badminton, her beginnings in the sport were with soccer and in this sense the athlete maintained that “it was a totally drastic change that I took because I had to leave soccer, which is a sport that I love. I had to go to Santiago to live for three years, something that was complicated because I was very young and being without my family was terrible. The truth is that I am not complaining about what I chose and I feel quite proud to represent Victoria and Chile in badminton“.

Regarding her projection for this year with the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games as a backdrop, Ashley Montre stated that “everything has been complicated this year due to the fact that I only started studying this year, so the preparation has been difficult, the be 100% for the coach or whatever he needs, stay focused and that has become a bit more complicated, but I intend to be fully with my studies and sports because I would love to be at the Games”.
