The match was tight since the early minutes. The first opportunity only arrived in the 16th minute when Newcastle almost twice found David de Gea’s goal.

First from Alexander Isak’s header which was pushed over by De Gea, then the ball gag was struck by Joe Willock but was thwarted by the Spanish goalkeeper.

MU had difficulty developing the game and was under pressure from Newcastle. The hosts almost scored in the 38th minute when Allan Saint-Maximin easily beat several MU players.

A drag bait was sent which was greeted by Sean Longstaff’s shot and beat De Gea, although it ended up going wide.
