‘Tata’ Martino revealed details of his non-arrival at Boca Juniors

Regarding his non-arrival as Boca Juniors coach, Martino gave details to The Athletic of his non-signing and said that it was he who did not want to take over the reins of the club at this time, as he believes that it was not the time to take up that challenge. .

“The world that surrounds Boca is enormous. It goes far beyond football and the squad you have or the football needs of the club. There is another life within the club that is very significant. There is a political aspect that plays an important role and there are elections at the end of this year”.

In the same way, Martino confessed that the current affairs of the club in terms of politics affect him and he had to analyze this offer well, so in the end, he preferred to decline it.

“Boca is currently also impacted by national politics, which requires a certain level of evaluation. And then there was my ability to take on a project of that magnitude right now. My analysis had to be very detailed. Once you accept a challenge like this, there is no going back. I thought that this was not the moment”, said Gerardo Martino.
