Tadej Pogacar addresses Remco Evenepoel: “Our battle will take a while” | Liège-Bastogne-Liège

With his first words after his crash and retirement in Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Tadej Pogacar proves once again that he is not the type of rider who dejectedly sweats out his injuries.

“Shit happens,” Pogacar opens his message on Instagram. “I consider myself lucky that I only suffered a few fractures in my wrist when I think about how crazy that crash was.”

Pogacar hopes that Mikkel Honoré, involved in the fall, recovers quickly. “He crashed harder than me.”

“It’s hard to explain how happy I am with the support I’ve received from fans, family, friends, my UAE team and especially the staff at the hospital.”

“I am very grateful for it and I hope to see everyone again soon.”

After which he addresses Remco Evenepoel: “Congratulations on your victory! Our battle will have to wait until the next opportunity”, he winks.
