Starling Marte and monitoring her health

The New York Mets do not stop receiving bad news regarding the health of their players and this Tuesday they reported that they will not have one of their best hitters at the start of the 2023 MLB season: Starling Marte.

Marte, who has a .303 average with one home run, five runs scored, two RBIs and four stolen bases, will be in “day to day” condition after suffering an injury Sunday against the Miami Marlins.

Marte tried to steal third base in the bottom of the first inning and, in the attempt, his head collided with the left knee of the Dominican Jean Segura. He deals with discomfort in his neck, however, he did not suffer a concussion.

The metropolitans assured that they will not rush the return of Marte, who in 2022 missed 26 games due to a hand injury. The outfielder has not been placed on the disabled list to give him a chance to improve in the coming days and not lose him for long.

The Mets have already suffered the losses of stars such as Justin Verlander, José Quintana, among others, so the health of their assets is already beginning to worry within the organization.
