Silver explains the conditions for the return of Bridges and Udoka

NBA commissioner Adam Silver outlined the return conditions for the Charlotte Hornets star Miles Bridges and the new head coach of the Houston Rockets Making Udoka.

The Hornets forward has reached an agreement with his team and the NBA to sit out the entire 2022-23 season over domestic violence charges against him. Here are Silver’s words about the “Bridges case”:

The process (with Bridges) was that we worked with his representatives and the players association so that he was out for the entire season. And so we felt, on balance, that since he had been out for a full season and hadn’t been paid for a full season, we thought in all honesty that we’d give him partial credit for missing that season.

The Commisioner deemed him out of action for an entire year losing tens of millions of dollars given the failure to sign a new free agent contract this summer was fitting punishment for Bridges. The winger can now sign a new contract, but he will still have to miss the first 10 games of next season.

For what concern “Caso Udoka” Instead, Silver said the league had access to the Celtics’ investigation and deemed the one-year suspension fair.

We’ve had access to the Celtics’ investigation. They decided he should be suspended for a year. We reviewed and determined it was right under the circumstances. And so when other teams – it wasn’t just the Rockets – asked us if he could coach next year, we said he could.

Next season the league will be able to see him again on the pitch Miles Bridgesalthough still to be decided with which shirt, since he is a free agent and the Hornets have denied the rumors of a possible interest in them.

Udoka, on the other hand, will have the arduous task of bringing back a team back from a disastrous season with just 22 victories, even if the rumors about a possible return of James Harden in Texas, certainly the ascent would be easier.
