PSG polls its supporters on the future of the Parc des Princes and the Stade de France

Paris Saint-Germain does not yet know its future home but is moving forward on various projects. To make its choice, the capital club does not forget its supporters, while some have expressed their opposition to a move away from the Parc des Princes. However, the PSG does not manage to find an agreement with the town hall of Paris to become owner of the Park and is a candidate for the acquisition of the Stade de France.

The club led by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi therefore sent a survey to its fans to inquire about their preferences regarding the future home of the Ile-de-France team. She had already sent a first wave of questions to regulars at the Parc des Princes. Four options are still being studied by Parisian leaders, but more details have been revealed “on the different scenarios”.

Grandstands and modified roof

The first concerns the “major renovation and expansion of the Parc des Princes”, in particular with a view to bringing the stands and the fans closer to the lawn.

The “complete renovation” of the Stade de France, the second option, would pursue the same objective. PSG would like the Dionysian enclosure to meet the “highest international standards”, thanks to seats closer to the field and a redesigned roof to “preserve the warm atmosphere of the public while protecting itself from weather conditions”.

The last two options evoke the construction of a new stadium, both also accessible via the future Grand Paris Express metro. One would be located within a radius of 5 km around the Parc des Princes, the other within a radius of 20 km around the current Parisian setting.

PSG is also trying to find out the priorities of its supporters: do they prefer a new Parc des Princes to a new-look “homeless” and why? He therefore questioned them on various criteria, from location, to accessibility, including the public’s attachment to the Porte d’Auteuil stadium and the atmosphere created by the various settings. It remains to be seen whether the responses of the supporters will be listened to.
