“Prometey” basketball players reach the ULEB Eurocup semi-finals in Riga

The Riga-based Ukrainian team beat the Patras “Promitheas” team from Greece with a score of 80:57 (25:16, 18;13, 19:11, 18:17).

Prometey’s success was facilitated by Delenta Stevens, who scored 17 points and was the top scorer, while Dzhan Clavel scored 14 points and Oleksandr Lipovy scored 10 points.

In Patra’s team, Joe Thomason was able to score more than ten points, who had 15 points, while Anthony Cowan, George Condit and Michalis Cairelis scored eight more points.

In the semi-finals, the winner of this match will meet Ankara’s “Turk Telekom”, which won 86:76 over Ulm’s “Ratiopharm” in the quarter-finals.

In group A, “Prometey” took the first place with 14 wins in 18 games, but in the round of 16, they beat Hamburg “Towers” with the result 87:79. “Promitheas” was fourth in group B with 11 successes and in the first round of the “play-off” won 89:75 over “Mincidelice” from Burganbres.

The winning streak of “Prometey” in the Eurocup has reached 13 successes.

In the ULEB Eurocup main tournament, 20 teams were divided into two groups of ten teams each. The eight best teams from each group advanced to the round of 16.

Last season, the basketball players of Bologna “Virtus” became the champions, who beat “Bursaspor” in the final and won a place in the ULEB Euroleague.
