Paris 2024 Olympic Games: swimming and diving at the Saint-Denis Aquatic Center

While Paris has obtained the organization of the 2024 Olympic Games, we invite you to discover the sites that will host the events.

  • The place: the aquatic center

The aquatic center will be installed at the foot of the Stade de France, to which it will be connected by a footbridge, on the site of “La Plaine Saulnier” in Saint-Denis. Located three minutes from the Olympic Village, it will house two Olympic pools, for competition and training, and two diving pits.

Built for the Games, it will remain in place after the competition. With a capacity reduced to 2,500 places, it “will become the new setting for the French Swimming Federation” according to the organizers.

  • Sport: swimming and diving

The aquatic center will host all indoor swimming competitions – races and synchronized swimming – and diving events. At the 2016 Olympics, Americans Michael Phelps and Katie Ledecky shone with nine gold medals between them. The site will also be used for the Paralympic Games.

  • The spectator capacity

In its Olympic and Paralympic configuration, the site will be able to accommodate 17,000 people. Its capacity will then be reduced to 2,500.

  • Condition of equipment: to be built

Everything has to be done. The construction of the aquatic center has not yet started.
