Ots Tanaks and his long-time business partner Marko Martins have stopped working together. The two Estonians not only worked together on the career development of the 2019 World Rally Champion, but were also partners in Martin’s original RedGrey rally team. Martin, who has not been seen in a WRC service park since the end of last season, has sold his stake in RedGrey and will no longer be involved in the sport.
Five-time WRC stage winner Martin told DirtFish: “Of course there is some sadness after 17 years, but things don’t last forever and I learned a valuable lesson that sometimes no good deed goes unpunished…”.

It is known that Martin’s departure will not affect the daily work of the Tallinn-based RedGrey team. “It was his decision to leave motorsport altogether and do something else to spend the rest of his life differently. This [lēmums] also included RedGrey. Together with the RedGrey team, we found a solution to continue the business and improve it every day. We’ve managed to keep the company running pretty smoothly, we’ve strengthened the company structure – we hired more people at the beginning of the year and I’d say we’re improving and it’s all going well.”
