“Ogre” will host “Ventspili” in the second game of the LBL semi-final series

Today, “Ogre” will host “Ventspils” basketball players in the second match of the “Pafbet” Latvian Basketball League (LBL) semi-final series. The game will start at 5 p.m. in the Ogre 1st secondary school gymnasium, and it will be broadcast live on TV4.

In the first match, the Ogre team won 79:76 and took a 1-0 lead in the series of three wins. The third match is scheduled for Tuesday in Ventspils. If a continuation of the series is necessary, the next matches are planned for April 27 in Ogre and two days later in Ventspils.

“Ventspils” was the second best domestic team in the Latvian-Estonian league and was free from the first round of the elimination tournament, while “Ogres” basketball players beat “Valmiera Glass”/”Vidzemes Augstskola” 3-0 in the quarterfinals.

In the United League, both teams celebrated away victories. In Ogre, the match ended with 94:88 in favor of Ventspils, but in Ventspils, Ogres won the game with 79:78. In the semifinals, the paths of the two teams crossed again last year, when Ventspils won 3-2.

In the second semi-final series, the capital teams “VEF Rīga” and “University of Latvia” will meet, “Vefians” leading 1-0 after the first duel. Last year, the basketball players of “VEF Riga” were crowned LBL champions, who beat “Ventspili” 4-1 in the final series, while “Ogrei” won the bronze award.
