Ocoyoacac community members block the Mexico-Toluca highway – El Sol de México

This Thursday morning a group of residents of the Ocoyoacac municipality They blocked the road at the height of The marquesse as a protest against the works of the Interurban Train.

As a result of this, traffic in both directions was affected, for which the authorities asked motorists to take precautions as slow progress occurs.

Likewise, a police force arrived to withdraw the community members who blocked the road with grass and tires, which they set on fire. There is also a presence of the National Guard in the vicinity.

It is not the first time that the community members demonstrate for the Interurban Train. On November 9, 2022, they protested that they had not been paid compensation for the properties that were used to open roads such as Las Torres avenue in the perimeter of Ocoyoacac.

“If they don’t pay us, we simply stop the old roads and see how we get on, we do it like we did the previous time with the sit-ins, that’s the only way they listened to us when the Interurban Train thing happened,” he said.
