New indoor tennis courts soon to be built in Saint-Leu-la-Forêt

Three indoor tennis courts will be rebuilt by the end of 2024 beginning of 2025, rue du Château, on the heights of Saint-Leu-la-Forêt (Val-d’Oise), in an exceptional setting, on the edge of the national forest of Montmorency.

€1.7 million excluding tax

A project with a budget of €1.7 million excluding tax subsidized by the French Tennis Federation for €50,000, the Department of Val-d’Oise for €402,000, the State for €140,000 and the Île-de-France Region for €200,000.

Waited for 15 years

It is in this capacity that Patrick Karamvice-president of the Region in charge of sport, went to the town hall of Saint-Leu-la-Forêt, Wednesday April 5, 2023, to present the check for €200,000 to Sandra Billet, mayor (DVD) of the commune.

“I’ve been in the club for fifteen years and we’ve been talking about it for fifteen years. We hope to increase our number of members and even hire a fourth teacher. »

The current courts at Les Diablots will be destroyed

The two current indoor courts are within the scope of the urban renewal project in the Diablots district, which may have accelerated the process.

If the project was delayed, it is also perhaps because of the sensitive nature of the site, on the edge of the national forest of Montmorency.

The project has been appealed

“We are aware that we are in a privileged site, which makes the exercise more difficult and adds to the construction costs. Moreover, the building permit was the subject of administrative appeals and was therefore delayed. It was a campaign commitment, known to all the inhabitants and awaited by our licensees and lovers of the yellow ball”.

An architectural project planned so that “integration is done at best”

Developed by the cabinet d’architecture Morin Rouchère, winning project manager, the project whose architecture is “neat” so that “the integration is done at best in this green setting”, provides for a rainwater collector.

Soil and source treatment studies

In this area, the site is approaching its “most delicate phase, that of soil studies and the treatment of springs that pass over the hillside”.

Work that will last several months. “They will allow us to size the structures as well as possible,” emphasizes Sandra Billet.

Delivery end of 2024 beginning of 2025

The new equipment must be delivered “end of 2024 beginning of 2025”.

Contiguous to this project, the new archery range is almost finalized and will welcome the bow company in fine weather.
