Nelson Ledesma continues to fight in Chile

To his 68 yesterday, Nelson Ledesma added a 67 to keep an eye on the leadership of the Astara Chile Classic, the sixth event of the 2023 season of the Korn Ferry Tour. The 32-year-old Argentine reached a score of twelve under par for 132 and after 36 holes he is only two shots behind the leader, the American Mason Andersen.

I feel very good and want to play well again. Last year I played few tournaments but I did very well. The confidence and the game are there. There are two rounds left and I will try to play well”, said Ledesma, who will look for his third victory on the Korn Ferry Tour over the weekend.

The Argentine registered just one bogey at 4 but his birdies at 1, 11, 12 and 14, plus an eagle at 9, put him in great position for the weekend on a course he last played in 2009. on the occasion of a Tour de Las Américas tournament. On that occasion he finished in third place.

In second place with -13 are the Swede Pontus Nyholm, 66, and the leader until yesterday, the American Max Greyserman, 67. Ledesma is in fourth position, but he is not alone. In that same place are the Americans Steven Fisk (and Ryan McCormick, with 62 strokes for the day.

One of the news of the day was carried out by the Argentine Martín Contini, who recorded the first albatross of the season. The 28-year-old holed out a 216-yard 6-iron shot, his second shot on the par-five 3rd hole. He ultimately shot a round of 69 that helped him clear the tournament cut at Prince of Wales Country Club.
