NBA, the absurd mediocrity of the Atlanta Hawks season: the record figure

After investing in the market to get Dejounte Murray, many in Atlanta expected a premier season for the Hawkscalled to return to the conference finals reached in 2021. Instead, one came up incredibly mediocre season, indeed: the most mediocre ever, at least at a record level. According to what is written by the NBA World Twitter account, in fact, for 22 times this season the Hawks have had a record of exactly 50%, a first in NBA history in a single season. The recent trend also confirms this trend: the last time the Hawks have racked up more than two consecutive wins dates back to mid-January (five hits in a row), but since from then on they alternated between losing and winning by a maximum of two (two defeats in a row, then two wins, then two defeats, then two wins and so on from January 29th to February 26th). From 14 March to today they have instead opened one streak of 10 consecutive matches alternating wins and losseswithout ever breaking away from that 50% record that represents the limbo of the NBA — the zone in which nobody wants to be. The last time they were “distanced” by more than two games from the 50% was even November 25th, when they went 4 games over 50% as they beat the Sacramento Kings and climbed to a record of 11 wins and 7 losses — over four months ago. Not even Quin Snyder’s arrival on the bench seems to have broken the 50% curse, on the contrary: with him on the bench the record is 8-9and even if the record is good enough to reach the play-in tournament, this summer Georgia will have to find a way to reverse course.
