During the game in Dallas, the referees caused a stir with a misleading whistle. Expecting to get the ball near the end of the third quarter, the Mavericks pros lined up on the wrong side of the field – the Warriors were free to score a basket in the other half.
With almost 14 minutes left after the scene and Dallas taking the lead twice in the last 120 seconds, the Mavericks weren’t denied a chance to win, according to the NBA.
The franchise could not prove the opposite, the statement said. However, the league admitted that the referees could have handled the situation better.
Defeat could hurt. Dallas is in danger of missing the playoffs.
