According to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman, the New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton will not be in uniform for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Twins due to a hamstring injury.
Stanton will be examined today to find out the extent of this injury.
The American has a .269 batting average since the start of the season, in addition to four home runs and 11 RBIs.
Following the news, New York recalled Oswald Peraza from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in the AAA.
The Yankees are 9-6 and currently sit third in the AL East Division.
