The judoka from Zamora Miriam Silvares has participated this weekend in the final phase of the Spanish championship in the junior category. The judoka, a member of the Judo Morales club and the only representative from Zamora in the championship, was unable to fight for the medals and had to settle for ninth place.

After a weigh-in in which the woman from Zamora had to suffer to reach 48 kilos, Miriam Silvares also suffered during the competition and fell in the quarterfinals against one of the finalists. She would enter the playoffs and was superior to her for much of the fight, but her rival knew how to rebuild herself and she left the woman from Zamora out, thus ending her participation in the championship.

The Morales Judo Club wanted to thank the woman from Zamora “for being an example and a reference for new and future generations of judokas”. Likewise, Miriam Silvares herself returns with more experience that she will be able to take advantage of in future competitions.
