Minnesota sends Rossi back to Iowa Wild

Marco Rossi has been sent back to the Iowa Wild farm team by NHL club Minnesota Wild, at least for the weekend. The 21-year-old from Vorarlberg will play the final two games of the American Hockey League (AHL) regular season for Iowa against the Texas Stars at Cedar Park on Saturday and Sunday. Iowa Wild is still fighting to make the playoffs.

Minnesota has already completed the National Hockey League season and will start the away playoffs on Monday (if Dallas is the opponent) or Tuesday (if Colorado Avalanche is the opponent). Whether with or without Rossi is open. In addition to the Austrian center, Sammy Walker, Nick Swaney, Damien Giroux and Nic Petan, all of whom had been brought to the NHL team in the past few days, were also handed over to Iowa.

Minnesota ends regular season with bankruptcy

Minnesota ended the regular season on Thursday (local time) with a 3-4 loss after overtime at the Nashville Predators, taking third place in the Central Division and sixth place in the Western Conference. Number one in the West are the Las Vegas Knights, who won 3-1 in Seattle to secure top spot in the playoffs.

Since Minnesota had a number of regular players rested for the postseason or absent due to injury, Rossi this time played alongside Nic Petan and Sammy Walker, who, like the Vorarlberger, were also raised by the Iowa Wild farm team. The 21-year-old received a lot of ice time with 17:31 minutes.

The Wild will face either the Dallas Stars or defending champions Colorado Avalanche in the first round of playoffs. The Denver team, which defeated the Winnipeg Jets 4-2, has one game left (in Nashville) and can overtake Dallas in the rankings and win the Central Division.

Bruins finish regular season with 65 wins

The Boston Bruins, meanwhile, rounded out the best regular season in NHL history with another win. The Bruins ended the regular season with a 5-4 win at the Montreal Canadiens with an all-time high of 65 wins and 135 points.

The Edmonton Oilers recorded their ninth straight win with a 5-2 win over the San Jose Sharks to set them up for the playoffs where they meet the Los Angeles Kings. Oilers superstar Connor McDavid came up with an assist and ended the regular season with the league-best 153 points (64 goals, 89 assists).
