The athletes of Club Atletisme Pitiús Mark Roper and María Cabello won the fourteenth edition of the Portus Magnus Race this Sunday, the traditional 3 kilometer race around the bay of Sant Antoni organized by CA Sa Raval.
The main test has been carried out along the ‘portmanyí’ coast, starting at Caló des Moro and arriving at the auditorium of sa Punta des Molí with the participation of 76 runners.
The under-18 category athlete Mark Roper (year 2006) demonstrated his great form, achieving victory with great authority after crossing the finish line with a time of eight minutes and 32 seconds, leading his teammate by 25 seconds. Mauro García-Vallés, from the sub-20 category, who stopped the clock at 8:57. The third drawer of the absolute podium went to Alberto Martín (CA Ibiza), with 9:08.
In women, the youthful María Cabello (year 2009) won with great superiority and with the 18th best overall time with 10:57. Carolina García (Sa Raval), also in the under-16 category, qualified in second position with 12:06 and Sandra Avellaneda (CAP) finished in third place with 12:13.
During the course of the event, tests for lower categories were also held with the presence of dozens of minors (400 meters for the sub-8 and sub-10 and 1,400 meters for the sub-12 and sub-14) as well as a skating race for the fishermen pier.
