Real Madrid will duel with Manchester City in the semifinals of the Champions League. Real Madrid coach Charles Ancelotti measure the strength of the opposing team.

Madrid will host Man City in the first leg (10/5), before taking turns visiting the Etihad the following week. Los Blancos advanced to the semifinals after eliminating Chelsea 4-0 on aggregate, while the Citizens knocked out Bayern Munich 4-1 on aggregate.

The Madrid vs Man City meeting was a repeat of last season’s Champions League semifinals. The Spanish giants successfully won the duel 6-5 on aggregate, after winning the second leg 3-1 through a sensational comeback.

However, Real Madrid will now face a more ferocious Manchester City. Man City has Erling Haalanda striker who has scored 48 goals this season including 12 goals in the Champions League.

Ancelotti said Haaland made Man City’s game change. However, Ancelotti ensured Madrid will try to repeat the success of last season.

“I don’t think they completely changed their style of play, it’s just that they now have a very good striker [Haaland] so their way of enjoying has changed a bit compared to last season. City can play in transition or matches with possession without any problems,” Ancelotti said AS.

“Manchester City have changed a bit but they are still very strong and have more individual quality, with a striker [Haaland], who scored a huge number of goals. We have to try to outpace them.”

“I do not know [tim favorit]. It’s not something I think about. We must be aware that we are very close to the final and Man City will be a very tough opponent in an almost even game. We’ll see what happens,” Ancelotti added.
