As Adrian Wojnarowski reports, Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams will likely miss the entire postseason with a right knee injury, so the Tennessee team has bolstered its inside game with rookie Kenneth Lofton Jr.

Adams has been out with a strain since late January. The New Zealand center underwent a stem cell injection a month ago, but it seems unlikely that he will return to the field for the playoffs. Another big blow for the second-best team in the Western Conference, as Brandon Clarke suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon injury.

Steven Adams joined the Grizzlies in August 2021, and this season he has averaged 27 minutes on the court, scoring 8.6 points with 11.5 rebounds per game in 42 appearances.

With the news about his status, Memphis decided to sign rookie Kenneth Lofton to a standard four-year, $7 million contract. Lofton was the G-League Rookie of the Year, averaging 20.2 points, 10.4 rebounds and four assists for Grizzlies affiliate Hustle.
