BASEBALL. Definitely, senior baseball has the wind in its sails in Drummondville. After the announcement of the new Jacques-Desautels stadium, the Brock has joined forces with a new major partner, Nutrite Mario Lambert.
Under a four-year agreement with this Drummondville company specializing in lawn maintenance, the Quebec Major League Baseball (LBMQ) team will now be called Brock Nutrite Lambert Baseball. In addition to funding the organization, Mario Lambert will also be involved on the team’s board of directors.
“Mario is already bringing excellent ideas. His contagious energy is felt. Really, he is a man of heart who gives of his time, ”said Brock president Mathieu Audet during a press conference held on Tuesday.
Involved for ten years on the Board of Directors of the Voltigeurs, Mario Lambert has been involved in the regional sports community for several years. For this baseball enthusiast, this association with the Brock was therefore natural.
“It’s impressive the flight that baseball has taken in the region in recent years. From minor baseball, through sports studies, the college program and senior baseball: we can be proud of what has been accomplished! My dearest wish, very humbly, is to join the movement in place in order to contribute to its continuation. For senior baseball, with the arrival of the new stadium, the event potential is immense”, expressed Mario Lambert with excitement.
The amount of the agreement between the two parties has not been disclosed.
“We will not hide the fact that the expenses of a baseball club are constantly increasing. Each year, we will therefore sit down to adjust. We want to ensure the sustainability of the baseball program,” said Mario Lambert.
The Brock Nutrite Lambert regular season will take off at the end of May. It is already possible to purchase tickets to attend all of the team’s local games.
