The Dominican Republic obtained a gold, three silver and a pair of bronze medals in the judo qualifier for the Central American and Caribbean Games held on Thursday at the Volleyball Pavilion of the Olympic Center with the support of the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI). ).

Eiraima Silvestre won the gold by defeating the Cuban Nairelis Fuente, from Cuba, in the -78 kilos category.

The bronze of the specialty was in the hands of Sairy Colón, from Puerto Rico. The silver medals for the Dominican Republic were won by Estefanía Soriano (-48 kilos), Ana Rosa (-57 kilos), and Ariel Lorenzo, in -100 kilos. Silvestre, who jumped for lo on his return to competition after seven months of inactivity due to a right elbow injury and who had to undergo surgery, got the good result in the judo qualifier for the Central American and Caribbean Games .

The representation of Cuba dominated the qualifier with a total of 10 gold, two silver and two bronze medals, while Venezuela obtained one gold, three silver and five bronze medals.
