Jade Meunier

Wednesday, April 5, 4 clementine judokas, members of the Judo sports and school section of the Montpezat college in Sens, participated in the French championship UNSS (National Union of School Sport) by school team in Ardèche at Le Pouzin.

The team of 8 judokas from the Montpezat college was made up of 4 fighters, a kata couple, a young referee and a coach.
Camille Moulin-Rouard, Tori in the couple kata, performed well with his partner since they managed to get out of the elimination pools before losing in the 1/8th final in the table. Both Minimes, they were faced with a large majority of more experienced Cadet couples.
They can be satisfied with their performance.
Hugo Van Der Vreken, hired as a young referee, obtained a satisfactory score of 15 out of 20 in the theoretical exam. Unfortunately, you had to obtain the minimum score of 16/20 to be certified in practice. For a first national experience in the field of arbitration, Hugo behaved very well.
Maelle Bertoux fought in – 63kg. After being ranked 1st in her pool with 3 great victories against solid opponents, Maëlle lost in the quarter-finals against one of those she had beaten in the pool. Bad fallout during this last fight, and complaining of a sharp pain in the hip, Maëlle will unfortunately not be able to compete in the repechages. Fortunately, more fear than harm on arrival, Maëlle was able to leave in full possession of her means. She will therefore be classified in an honorable 7th place.
– The big performance of the day goes to Jade Meunier who in her new weight category of -40kg climbed to the top step of the podium by winning her 3 fights by ippon, on 3 different techniques.
Jade thus wins the title of French UNSS champion.

It is a great satisfaction for Jade, for her family and for her Club.

The school team of the Montpezat college ranks in a good 5th place out of 38 school teams present.
