– The rich program of the 76th University Championships of Camerino and Alte Valli del Chienti and Potenza, which will take place from 17 to 25 June and which will involve 7 municipalities in the organization of competitions in the various disciplines (among those of the and optional).
In fact, in addition to Camerino, the main site with its own university sports center and nearby municipal facilities, the show of challenges was distributed throughout the province, from Camerino to Civitanova Marche, then Matelica, Castelraimondo, San Severino Marche, Caldarola and Pieve Turin. Championships that will feature more than 3,000 athletes from all national universities.
To open the dances and deliver the first medals on the opening days and on the 17th and 18th will be Taekwondo, Judo and Wrestling (which will assign all the category titles on the opening day). Disciplines that will be hosted at the University Palasports of Le Calvie: Judo at the PalaOrsini, Wrestling at the Palas Drago-Gentili. While Taekwondo at the municipal arena of Castelraimondo. On the beach of Civitanova, at the “Due Re” baths, the qualifications and the finals of Beach Volleyball (optional discipline) will take place on the 17th and on the 18th with the contribution in setting up the AS Volley Lube.
The rest and a large part of the program will take place mainly from June 19 onwards until the close of the day 25 and will be so concentrated. Volleyball, where there will be no Cus narchigiani in the final stages, will be played in two venues from 19 to 23 June, the boys will play at the Palasport “Ciarapica di San Severino Marche”, while the girls will play in Caldarola, at the Municipal Gym “Milena Nardi” . The same dates for tennis, where the men’s tournament will be held at the Cus Camerino facilities in the “S. Sabbieti” of Le Calvie, while the women’s one on the courts of the Castelraimondo Tennis Club. Both venues have the ability to host both indoor and outdoor matches.
Also from 19 to 23 June, the men’s futsal tournament is scheduled, with meetings at the multipurpose municipal Palasport of Camerino, also in Le Calvie. In this tournament the home team of Cus Camerino has already qualified among the 8 finalists, but there could be three selections from the Marches if Cus Ancona manages to qualify in the double confrontation with Cus L’Aquila and also Cus Macerata who will have to contend in the doubles preliminary confrontation with Cus Pisa, the matches are scheduled for 18 April for the first leg and 5 May for the return leg.
From 20 to 23 June, attention will also focus on the 11-a-side football tournament, scheduled in Matelica at the Municipal stadium and field B; while the men’s basketball tournament will be played at the municipal Palasport of Castelraimondo from 20 to 24 June. The table tennis criterium is scheduled for the 21st and 22nd, respectively with the qualifications and the finals at the Orsini University Palasport in Camerino. The L. Luzi University stadium in Camerino will also host the “rugby a 7” tournament on the 21st and 22nd, where there will be no selections from the Marche region. On the other hand, great charm and entertainment is expected at the Pieve Torina Town Hall, with the intense and concentrated program of finals of the various fencing specialties over the three days from 20 to 22 June, each of which will award medals.
The queen of all sports, athletics with all its specialties, will be the great protagonist of the last two days of 24 and 25 June at the L. Luzi University Stadium in Camerino, which will present itself at these games with a totally redone look and with an updated version to host precisely the big events, of which these Cnu will not only be the first great opportunity for a future full of appointments, but also a qualified verification test for the new structures.
The program of optional disciplines also includes women’s futsal at the Palasport Drago-Gentili in Camerino from 19 to 21 June; the road cycling races in collaboration with the GS Avis Frecce Azzurre of Camerino on Sunday 18 and Sunday 25, which will involve the roads of the Monti Sibillini National Park (over a distance of 105 km and a vertical drop of 1700 m); the women’s basketball tournament at the Palasport in Matelica from 22 to 24 June, the chess tournament at the ITIS Auditorium in San Severino Marche on 21 and 22; the Archery competitions at the Le Calvie University Sports Center in Camerino and the table football tournament at the Pieve Torina town hall on 24 and 25 June; finally, on the final day of the 25th, there will also be a Mountain Bike race along a 46 km route which will pass through the municipalities of Camerino, Castelraimondo and Serrapetrona.
