To say that a pass can be more pleasant… On the other hand – an example from 2019 in Slovakia. We had a five to three majority. Cibulia gave me a lift, I rushed to the litter and then gave it to Indul through the litter [Mikam Indrašim], who put in the blanks. I enjoyed it terribly for one reason – because I told Induli before that episode to wait – until the end. Well, really to the end! That’s exactly what it was. It’s rare that everything turns out exactly as you planned, and this was one of those times. Such passes are super enjoyable. Tell your partner to wait for the pass – it will happen!

It was also the case that at first I was not named as the goal scorer at all – as we talked about the informant’s statements here before. Second extension. It turned out that Miķelis pulled the puck into the zone. I saw that he does not reach the goal and that he throws a turn to the side. I crossed, he dropped the puck. I already saw before that episode that Janka was skating towards the goal with great power. As the puck was thrown to me, I gave a cross pass. It’s almost like a corner kick in football – hoping that something will happen. Either Jānis will put out a stick, or something will turn out of that duel. And so it was – he hit the opponent’s skate and went into the goal. The addressee was Janka’s duel, because I was sure that he would get something out of the moment. I immediately saw that it was a good goal, that nothing would be canceled, but there were seconds when the opponents thought that it flew in from Janis’ skate.
I threw in “overtime” when we beat “Atlant” on my birthday. Everyone usually says: “Oh, it’s a birthday, so today will be a big day.” But for me, birthdays are more associated with the fact that the table is set in the evening, but the mood is not very good, because something went wrong in the game. Both for the team and individually. It was a pleasant exception.
