‘Hurricanes’ and ‘Stars’ enter the quarterfinals of the Stanley Cup

The hockey players of Carolina “Hurricanes” and Dallas “Stars” entered the quarterfinals of the Stanley Cup on Friday.

Carolina “Hurricanes” beat the New York “Islanders” in overtime 2:1 (0:1, 0:0, 1:0, 1:0), winning the series 4:2.

Kel Clutterbuck put the hosts in the lead, Sebastian Aho equalized in the 50th minute, and Paul Szczatny scored the winning goal after six minutes of extra time.

Frederiks Andersens saved 33 shots in the winning goal, while Ilya Sorokin managed 39 shots for the hosts.

The Minnesota “Wild” recognized the superiority of the Dallas “Stars” at home with 1:4 (0:1, 0:2, 1:1), the Dallas hockey players winning the series 4-2.

Rope Hintz, Wyatt Johnston, Mason Marchment and Max Domi scored for the winners, who sent the puck into an empty net.

The home team managed to get the puck into the Dallas team’s goal for the only time, when the score was already 0:3. Frederick the Wise stood out.

In another match, the Florida “Panthers” beat the Boston “Bruins” at home – 7:5 (2:1, 1:1, 4:3).

The hosts took the lead three times, but the “Bruins” not only fought back three times, but also took the lead with 4-3 and 5-4 after the goals scored by David Pastrniak in the majority and Jake Debraska in the minority.

However, it was the home side who had the final say, with Sam Reinhart scoring the point with 28 seconds remaining on an empty-net shot.

Matthew Tkaczak (2+1) scored two goals for the winners, while four other hockey players scored two points each.

For the winner of the main tournament, “Bruins”, four assists were collected by Brad Marchand, while Tyler Bertuzzi recorded three (2+1) points in his account, with Pastrniak scoring two goals.

The winners of the 2022 Stanley Cup became the Colorado Avalanche, who beat the Tampa Bay Lightning, the winners of the previous two seasons, 4-2 in the final series.
