The fight for the play-offs in the Bundesliga this season is more exciting than it has been for a long time.

Göttingen – The BG Göttingen is not only there, but right in the middle of it. After the “post-season” went down the drain last season due to a series of defeats and Kamar Baldwin’s injury absence, it should finally work out again after eleven years with a place in the finals – that’s coach Roel’s big goal Moors and the entire BG organization.

Linked to this is an international starting place, which in turn is an important argument when looking for new players if they can show themselves on the European stage. The BG is facing a tough remaining program with six and thus most games – nothing has been decided yet about the final placement on May 7th. The MagentaSport commentators recently mentioned the violets several times as a candidate for fourth place – that would mean home advantage in the quarter-finals. But is fourth place realistic?

It’s more about maintaining fifth place. This would avoid the three big “B’s” Berlin, Bonn and Bavaria. But even this goal is likely to be immensely difficult. Even the home game on Saturday (8.30 p.m.) against Braunschweig is a tough one. And just two days later on Monday, the catch-up game from the 1st matchday(!) against Chemnitz will be a crazy feat. The last away game next Thursday in Würzburg could already have “final character”. It is important to sell well against the top teams Munich (3rd) and Bonn (2nd). And final opponent Frankfurt is still fighting doggedly to stay up in the league. The pound with which the BG can grow are the five home games with the necessary fan support – with speculated three home wins. The somewhat reassuring thing for the BG: The competition also takes away points from each other. But it’s always exciting, despite the mammoth game program, full concentration is required. Difficult enough!
