Happy association to Judoka from Juarez

After the athlete from Juarez Matías Montaño requested support on social networks for the purchase of judo uniforms, the association Cheering up Children in Juárezthrough its president, Alejandro Acosta, responded to his call.

The 10-year-old minor posted a video on Facebook on April 19 in which he exposed his situation.

“I am currently representing Juárez in the United States in different tournaments and last month I managed to qualify for the 2023 Junior Olympic Championships in Louisiana. I would like to ask the Alejandro Acosta association for support for a competition uniform. I thank you for his attention and the support you can give me, ”he said in a 32-second recording.

The tournament will take place between June 16 and 18 and athletes from all over the world will participate.

“When Matías tagged me on Facebook, I felt a lot of emotion, but above all pride that in our cities we have athletes with the quality that he has; sport is a very important tool to rescue the social fabric of this border”, stated Acosta.

The minor has attracted attention since November 2022, thanks to his good results in international competitions such as the Dallas Open and the President’s Cup.

The president of the association Cheering up Children in Juárez, Alejandro Acostaindicated that it is a privilege to help the children of this border who request their support.

Matías went with his father to receive financial support that will allow him to continue representing Juárez in the United States.

“Our AC has been working to support vulnerable minors, and doing its bit to rehabilitate sports fields in schools, and we are following up on these types of cases. Our childhood should be our best bet. Supporting children is how our city can get ahead, we need to rescue children, because they are the future of this great city, we need to bet on them”, Acosta added.

The resources delivered to Matías Montaño, who thanked them for their support, will help him cover part of the expenses he requires to represent Juárez at the 2023 Junior Olympic Championships in Louisiana.
