Hamburg judo team saves draw against Walheim

The Hamburg judo team lost its first point in the Bundesliga on the second day of the fight. The runner-up from last season parted ways with TSV Hertha Walheim 7-7 in front of a home crowd on Saturday.

Lasse Schriever and Gela Zaalishvili prevented the hosts from losing in the last two fights with their victories. Despite the draw, the Hanseatic League have taken the lead in the northern group.

“We’re still a little disappointed with the result because, despite our strong opponents, we were just a few points down, injured or disqualified,” said President Rainer Ganschow, but admitted: “The opponents deserved a point today.”
