Guidelli Trophy for 500 boys. Teams from all over Italy are arriving

Three days dedicated to youth basketball for one of the longest-running sporting events, 38 years with interruption only due to Covid. The Arezzo Basketball School is ready for the Guidelli Trophy which, from Sunday 23rd to Tuesday 25th April, will see about five hundred boys compete in the Under 12, Under 13 and Under 14 categories. The tournament will bring together thirty teams from all over Italy, from Campania to Piedmont with the presence of some of the most important basketball realities such as Fortitudo Bologna. Spotlights on the Under 13 where Tam Tam Basketball of Castel Volturno will play, a team made up exclusively of non-EU boys with integration problems and with economic difficulties who are given the opportunity to play basketball for free, which will be hosted with the fundamental support of the Arezzo committee of the Uisp. The “Guido Guidelli” trophy, supported by the main sponsor Amen, will also represent an important opportunity for the Sba boys from Arezzo: in fact, the company will be present in all categories with the Under 14 Galvar of coach Mirko Pasquinuzzi and with the Under 13 and the Under 12 Nova Verta of coach Michele Roggi. Over the course of the three days, 65 competitions will take place which will be hosted by six arenas between Arezzo, Badia al Pino and Ponticino.

The finals will take place on the morning of 25 April at the Estra “Mario D’Agata” sports hall, starting at 8.30 for the Under 12s, 10.15 for the Under 13s and 12 for the Under 14s. also the party evening at 20.45 on Monday. This “event within the event” will see the presence of an exceptional guest such as the sports journalist Flavio Tranquillo who was the communication manager of the Lega Basket, who was the voice of the national basketball team. “This event – said the councilor for sport Federico Scapecchi and the president of the Arezzo Intour Foundation Simone Chierici – has now become a classic capable of always offering interesting competitive ideas, renewing the commitment made by the Sba to bring a youthful event of caliber international”.
