This weekend the Open Mat was held for Children’s Day, organized by the Gorilas Judo school. The activities, directed by the trainer Roberto Moreno, took place in the Parque del Oriente dojo. Clubs from the capital of Chiapas, as well as from San Cristóbal de Las Casas, were present. The main objective was to collect toys that will be delivered to children who live in homes in Tuxtla.

Actions began at 10:00 a.m. Young people, adolescents and adults began with the warm-ups. Later the confrontations began, in which the contestants showed the basic movements of the disciplines of Judo and Jiu Jitsu.

Students belonging to academies such as Indeporte Judo, directed by Professor Luis Alberto Martínez; Melvin Revilla Jiujitsu School, from Tuxtla Gutiérrez; Club San Cristóbal de Bruno Faneco and the organizers, Gorillas Judo, showed their best techniques in open training that helped them enhance their skills.

At the end of the fights, Roberto Moreno thanked all the parents and the coaches for having participated in this Open Mat, since the main purpose was to gather as many toys as possible, which will be donated. The teacher indicated that from next Friday they will begin with the delivery of the proceeds.

It should be noted that this is not the only work they have done in recent weeks, as the club located in the Parque del Oriente facilities remains active and participates in the best contests in the Judo discipline. For this reason, they invite those interested to visit the place to get to know this sport up close, hoping to have more and more practitioners.
